Ukraine Report Of The Trip June 23-July 12

Words fail to describe the opportunities and the needs. Great effectual doors are open! In a few days we (Bro. Landolt and I) preached at thirteen churches - twenty-nine times, three of which were all day sessions and three of which were long evening sessions (also many four hour coffee shop sessions) with the hungry! God continues to touch hearts of Union Baptist leaders and people. Invitations to their homes involved long and profitable discussions regarding Bible Doctrine. God has granted favour and invitations abound in their one hundred and fifty plus churches, and their Bible institute. The valiant national Independent pastors are a little army of Davids against Goliaths, trained in Brother Mark Landolt's school in Romania. I met many five or six years ago. They have started churches, winning souls, training others and preaching at every opportunity. If you could see them…many under extreme conditions of poverty, supportive wives and families in order, but most with little or no support. Would you pray about helping these born again nationals? They have the language, the cultural knowledge and the touch of God. I think this is my fifth trip to Eastern Europe and they courageously stand for Christ, His word, and weep for their spiritually hungry country. They ask not for sympathy under harsh economic conditions, but for ammunition to fight on! To be remembered on the front lines - facing the subtitle ravening of the Orthodox Church. The doors are opening. We have been extended invitations to preach in a Medical University and Schools, and to go to their Bible Institute to train pastors. Victor and Valiuru have purchased a suitable building for a Bible School, and we need about $10,000.00 more to finish the facility. Please consider giving financially, or supporting a trained, proven national preacher. The fields are white unto harvest but the wall is coming back up slowly.

Also, I had the blessing of seeing Brother Chuck Leonard and family. To see them accepted, laughing and mingling with the Ukrainians was such a treat. I saw the church he built and the property they just purchased - surely God is leading. CBBC delivered Micro film for photographing a Romanian Bible that Bro. Chuck has found. Pray for this noble endeavour. Works oriented Bible translations are truly a hindrance.

Also, Brother Tim was working hard to prepare a home for his wife, who has just had a baby in Germany, and was returning soon.

Brother Mark Landolt has blazed a path, with the School of men of the Ukraine. They were trained at Lunka Ilvae, Romania and are now establishing churches in their homeland. They are starting a school in Ukraine to train other faithful nationals. Please pray!

God bless! Sincerely,

Bro. Chuck Coulson
